 Haven't been here is awhile

Updates:

Students still turn in blank assignments.

Google Classroom lets me see this.

They are not fooling anyone other than their parents. _ This is a shame, parents!  __Parents - ask to see the work!!!!!!!!!

Also, seems parents care quite a bit less these days.  hmmmmmm. a thing to ponder.

 Dear COVID,

Thank you for causing my classes to be so small.  Clearly if students are not in class they do not care enough about my class to make sure they don't catch you.

All the best,

E.V. Ill Teacher

I have decided that if a student is absent or doesn't pay attention the very first time I mention a thing they will have no chance to re-hear or re-learn the information.

This will teach students to fear me and my wrath.

I have now decided that all tests will be unannounced.

Last week I gave a quiz about several things that I have never mentioned in class.

When the students turned in their papers I erased the names off of a few papers so that I would not need to grade them.  This seems like an excellent way to cut down on my work load.

You are welcome for this tip!!!!

One of my students, let's call him Jim (because that is his name), turned in his work on time.  I cleverly acquired this paper and slipped it back into his binder so that he would know that he turned it in, but it would still be in his binder!!!! ~ This way I will not have to give him credit for his hard work.

Folanda is a new student in my class.

She seems to have a firm grasp on what it means to be a good student.

She will see what is what soon.
Students took a test. Apparently they thought I should grade those tests and then return them to the students who wrote on the paper in the first place, weird.

The reasons that I did not do what was 'expected':
  • I didn't have a pen!
  • No-one told me I had to correct the tests!
  • No-one told me to give the tests back to those who wrote on the papers!
  • I didn't know anyone cared about these papers!
  • If I mark these papers in a color - what would that even mean?!
Turns out I should return test papers with colorful marks on them.
Maybe I will do this in the future.

~ I took a student's pencil, hid it  in another part of the room, and then asked the student why she did not have a pencil.

I decided to become a teacher for the money and the fame.
Somehow it seems that even though I believe teachers deserve money and fame it turns out that this is not the outcome that most teachers experience.

So.....
I tried.  I really did. However, no matter how you look at it teachers are not revered as I thought they would be.

So....
I decided to go another way.

So......
children, watch out. the things you tell your parents about your teachers are about to become real.
